Comment
A chemist (Douglass Montgomery) who is making his living by selling his own formulation hair restorer from a fair ground stall. Their marriage is on the rocks as she (Patricia Burke) is having an affair with a man (Garry Marsh) she is trying to persuade to give her a leading role in a play and he falls in love with a woman (Hazel Court) on a stall opposite his stall. He decides to kill her, but she actually dies of natural causes, though the police then start to suspect she was murdered. This is a good British thriller with good performances from Patricia Burke as the aspiring actress seeking fame and Hazel Court as the working class girl looking for love and security. This is also known Scarlet Heaven.
