This is John Ford's fine portrayal of life in a remote cavalry fort and Henry Fonda and John Wayne's interaction with the native Indians. The two cavalry men have different views, with Fonda having a formal traditional appraoch and Wayne giving some dignity to the Indians. This is the first of John Ford's cavalry trilogy of films.
