A group of young people go to a remote camp to set it up for this summers visitors, only a previous resident has murderous intentions and kills them off one by one.This film (along with the earlier Holloween) created the 1980 slasher/horror genre of films. The film itself is in many ways not great, however the legacy and influence are much greater as so many films have reused the ideas in this film, sometimes better and sometime worse. When you watch it today you need to watch it as the landmark film it was, rather than comparing with current horror films.
