Comment/Synopsis

After the American civil war a man (Joseph Cotten) invents an explosive that can send an explosive rocket to anywhere on earth and to send a rocket to the moon. His main rival (George Sanders) tries to stop him despite him and his daughter (Debra Paget) being on the rocket to the moon. The film suffers from a small budget and also a muddled plot that gets involved in armaments and morality with a very slow and wordy first half. The acting from Joseph Cotten and George Sanders is wooden leading quite a dull feel to the film.
