Gene Tierney moves into a seaside cottage that she is told is haunted. She discovers that it is haunted by Rex Harrison. They strike up an unlikely friendship as she writes down his biography. When she takes the manuscript to a publisher she meets George Sanders which leads to the start of a romance. Rex Harrison gives a good performance as the ghost of the feisty sea captain and Gene Tierney is the widow discovering love.
