Comment
A man (Henry Kendall) finds a camera on the back seat of his car and is in the process of developing the film when the camera is stolen. One of them indicates a murder has been committed and using the pictures as clues. He starts to investigate with the help of a young woman (Ida Lupino) who is in one of the photographs. The plot and characters keep the interest as the mystery unfolds with a light touch. The film is innovatively photographed and is notable for being edited by David Lean. This is a good British film from the period. Henry kendall has an engaging charm as the amateur sleuth whilst Ida Lupino brings a level of sexual charisma to the role of sister of the suspect. The acting credit though goes to John Mills whose performance in the second half of the film as the man suspected of the murder.
