Comment/Synopsis

In the middle of the depression a wealthy song writer agrees to write and fund a musical for four out of work actressess. However when his family find out they try and stop him and the budding romance. This is an entertaining musical comedy. It is notable for the Busby Berkeley staged song and dance numbers, including the opening song "We're in the money", sung by Ginger Rogers. This is also unusal in that there are different versions of the film to get round the censors introduced by the Hayes Code.
