A monster (Prudence Hyman) who can turn people into stone is terrorising a small middle European village at the end of the 19th century. The local doctor (Peter Cushing) is hiding the truth, but a professor (ChristopherLee) is brought in to help by the relative of one of the victims. This is Hammer films gothic take on Greek myth.
