A new girl (Winona Ryder) at high school tries to get in with the in-crowd of three girls named Heather (Shannon Doherty, Lissane Falk And Kim Walker). She then meets a new boy (Christian Slater) and when they accidentally kill one of the Heathers, they fake a suicide note and start a spate of suicides. This is a darkly comic take on teenage angst and life in the 1980's
