When their employer (Leon Errol) reveals that he is bankrupt, his servants come up with a scheme to pass off the scullery maid (Michele Morgan) as his daughter and marry her to a rich husband. Things are complicated by the arrival of a famous singer (Frank Sinatra) and an Earl (Victor Borge) who is not what he seems. Whilst in places this does show its stage roots, this is an entertaining musical romantic comedy with a good performance from Michele Morgan in the lead as the maid turned into debutante. It is also notable as the first major role for Frank Sinatra, mainly as a singer rather than an actor.
