A doctor in a remote Scottish village is tricked into buying a dog (Lassie) who is scared of water and he battles to bring new techniques to the village and also find a young man to train as a doctor to replace him. This is sentimental family entertainment with Lassie as the star and an early performance from Janet Leigh.
