Comment/Synopsis

A man (Robert Ames) who has worked his way up from a poor background is engaged to woman (Mary Astor) but struggles to deal with the pressures of her wealthy and socially elite family. The plot is not great, but the highlight of the film is the performance of Ann Harding as the woman's sister for which she was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar.
