A woman returns to England to inherit the house and fortune of her father who dies possibly by suicide, but people are out to kill her for the money. The plot is a bit messy with people want to share the house for a charity and people involved in drugs. Terence Fisher's direction raises the film above the level of the plot. Rona Anderson brings some lightness to the lead role and there is an early performance from Stanley Baker as the slow and stammering servant.
