Comment/Synopsis
A gypsy girl (Patsy Ruth Miller) is drawn into a political plot and then framed for the murder of one of her suitors only to be rescude by the hunchback (Lon Chaney). This is a good version of the story and whilst some of the acting is typical silent film style there are good performances from both Lon Chaney and patsy Ruth Miller. It also benefits from some big crowd scenes. This is the classic silent version of the film that compares to the classic early sound version of 1939.
