The wife of a prominent citizen disappears, but then reappears to hypnotise him into killng people staying in the house. The plot is faily silly, but it is played with a good moody atmosphere which is helped by the music. Bela Lugosi plays Bela Lugosi, but there is a good natural performance from Polly Ann Young as the daughter.
