A teenage girl (Kristen Bell) who has lived with her mother sisnce her father (Tim Matheson) left them when they were young decides to go and stay with her father for the summer to try to restart their relationship. She discovers that he is a selfish loner who drinks and she vents years of pent up anger at him. The father's girl friend (Sean Young) acts as stabilising influence between the two. This is not a great film, but there is a good and convincing performance from Kristen Bell as the teenager trying to come to terms with who her father was and what he has become.
