Ginger Rogers is an Irish American living in Philidelphia who has to choose between a rich socialite and a dcotor for her affections. The film is played in flashbacks and conversations with Ginger Rogers alter ego in her mirror. This film maked the turning point in Ginger Rogers career as she she moved from song and dance films into dramatic roles. She rightly won an Oscar for this role that recognised her acting talents. In this film Ginger Rogers dyed her hair so she was not her usual blonde colour.
