A woman maries a wealthy widow however when his nephew brings his friend to stay her murky past starts to come to light, particularly as the nephew investigates the disappearance of his friend. This is an adaptation of the popular novel by M E Braddon published in 1862, although the plot has been changed which does alter the flow of the story.
