Victor Mature is trapper who who agrees to help the soldiers in an Oregan fort as they battle the local Native Indians. This is set against rivalry between the various officers and Victor mature's attraction to Anne Bancroft the wife of one of the officers. There are a few nice shots of the mountains but otherwise a run of the mill western.
