A night club singer and dancer (Joan Crawford) falls for a travelling salesman (Neil Hamilton). When he dumps her she goes to a bridge to commit suicide but is rescued by a man from the Salvation Army (Clark Gable), however she still has to resist the temptations of her old life. This is a good early sound film from Joan Crawford. It has a moralistic message of how traving men prey on innocent women, and in this case a married man, but does carry hope and show the good work of the Salvation Army.
