Stan laurel pretends to be a relative of a rich man who has died but when they turn up for the reading of the will, the police think the man was murdered and Stan is a suspect. Although that is the basic plot, much of the comedy comes from them trying to survive the night in a spooky mansion during a thunderstorm. The plot is slightly different to their ususal comedies with a nice twist at the end. The film is notable for bein the first time Oliver hardy says the famous line - Here's another nice mess you've gotten me into.
