Danny Glover is the policeman about to retire who is teamed up with a younger maverick policeman (Mel Gibson) to go after a drugs ring. Mel GIbson is a slightly unhinged former special forces who is now a policeman. The film is carried by the interplay between Mel Gibson and Danny Glover and was the classic buddy cop film of the 1980's.
