Spencer Tracy is about to marry Jean Harlow until his paper publishes a story that a wealthy woman (Myrna Loy) is a marriage wrecker. Sue sues the paper so he arranges for William Powell to step up a sting operation. This involves William Powell having a marriage of convenience with Jean Harlow so that he can be caught alone with Myrna Loy to stop the law suit. Inevitably both Jean Harlow and Myrna Loy end up falling in love with William Powell, creating a strange but entertaining three-way love triangle. William Powell and Jean Harlow are entertaining in their roles whilst Myrna Loy brings more elegant charm.
