This is an interesting British film covering the life and loves of a British army officer over the period of the Boer War, World War 1 and World War 2, with a good performance from Deborah Kerr as the love interest. This film is notable for its critic of war, especially given that the film was made during WW2 and the Nazi threat to Britain was still very real. An unusual piece of casting has Deborah Kerr playing all three of the love interest women in the differening periods of the film.
