A French playboy (Charles Boyer) and an American woman (Irene Dunne) fall in love on a boat trip across the Atlantic despite each being engaged to someone else. They arrange to meet 6 months later at the top of the Empire State building when they have both got jobs. However rushing to get to the meeting she has a car accident. This is a good romance, that mixes well the romance, the story and some lighter scenes.
