A man competes with a rival for the love of a girl and also for the job of a reporter. On one level this is a typical Keystone slapstick comedy short, but it is also a land mark film as it is the first film to feature Charlie Chaplin. Watching this today, it is not a great film, but its importance lies in what it led to with the career of Charlie Chaplin.
