Comment/Synopsis

A woman (Charlotte Henry) arrives in New York with the world's most valuable stamp and in her hotel room it is stolen and the theif is killed, so Ellery Queen (Eddie Quillan) is persuaded to help his policeman father (Wade Boteler) solve the crime. The plot is a variation on the locked room mystery. There is a good performance from Charlotte Henry as the woman at the centre of the plot and good support from Rita La Roy and Kay Hughes as a pair of sisters. The weak part of the film is Eddie Quillan who is not convincing as Ellery Queen.
