In a fishing vllage a young man proposes to the pretty but coy young lady (Mary Pickford) who mends the nets. However his former lover (Mabel Normand) was expecting the proposal and her brother comes to defend her honour. This short from director D W griffith is based on a standard love triangle plot, but benefits from performances from two of the popular female leads of the day and some directing that blends the action with the rugged coastline background.
