At the end of the 18th century Captain Bligh (Charles Laughton) sails the Bounty to the Pacific and on the way back Fletcher Christian (Clark Gable) leads a mutiny of he crew. This is a good version of the story that is made by the powerful performance of Charles Laughton as the brutal capatin Bligh for which he was Oscar nominated along with Clark Gable as Fletcher Christian. Franchot Tone was also nominated as the sailor who did not mutiny and is eventually tried for mutiny. This was a lavish and expensive film production from MGM for the time.
