A newspaper reporter trying to save an innocent man from execution will stop at nothing to get the story and save the man. At the same time an ambitious female reporter arrives at the paper and both helps and hinders the story and the process of getting the evidence to acquit the man. There are plenty of twists and turns in the plot as evidence is faked and exposed. There is also good banter bewteen Preston Foster and Lynn Bari that adds lighter scenes to the film. Newspaper based films were popular in the 1930's and this is an enteratining variation although not a classic.
