A biologist (Gerard Butler) and his daughter (Abigail Breslin) live happily and peacefully on a remote pacific island. He goes off on trip trip in his boat but gets caught up in a storm and so does not return when she expects him to. her father has been emailing the writer (Jodie Foster) and some adventure novels that she reads. So Abigail Breslin asks Jodie Foster to come and help her as she thinks she is the hero from the books but she is actually the writer with agraphobia. This is a gentle family film that leaves the impression it could have been much better. The basic plot is a good idea but it is not well developed and having Gerald Butler play both the father and jodie Foster's alter ego as the hero from her books does not quite work. Abigail Breslin is the star of the film with another good performance and Jodies Foster gives a good performance but her character needed to contribute more to the plot.
