A Welsh librarian (Peter Sellers) who is bored with his job and his wife (Virginia Maskell) meets the attractive wife (Mai Zetterling) of a wealthy business man who is married to the chair of the library committee. She takes a fancy to him and the beginnings of an affair starts to take place with comic interuptions. This is an early British comedy from Peter Sellars, filmed in the kitchen sink style that was popular in Britain in the early 1960's. The performance from Peter Sellers is very good and there is good support from both Mai Zetterling and Virginia Maskell. The film is absed on the novel by Kingsley Amis.
