A wounded gunfighter (Tim Daly) takes refuge with with a widow (Naomi Watts) from "Plain" Christian group and while he recuperates a tenderness starts to develop between the two of them as their vary different worlds clash. The sets are relatively simple but are enhanced by the effective use of lighting and contrast together with a haunting sound track. Although there are obvious comparisons to The Angel and The Badman, the script in this film makes much more of the contrast between the two cultures and the effects two main characters have on each other and also her community. Naomi Watts gives a good performance as she mixes faith, innocence, strength and a subtle sensuality.
