Comment/Synopsis
A group of strangers find themselves on a ship in the fog with no knowledge of how they got there or where they are going. They start to realise that they are all dead and on a journey to the afterlife during which their lives are examined by the Examiner. This is an early sound film based on stage play so the production has some limitations, but there are good performances from the cast. Leslie Howard is more silent overacting and Helen Chandler copes better with it being a sound film. This was remade as Between Two Worlds in 1944.
