A writer (Margaret Leighton) and her invalid husband (Ralph Richardson) employ a chauffer who she uses as inspiriation for her new novel, but he thinks the story is real and that she loves him. This is a curious film with the begining and end filmed in black and white whilst the middle section which is the story of the book is filmed in colour. The plot is not inspiring, and the script not great. The best part of the film are all the dresses worn by Margaret Leighton designed by Norman Hartnell.
