Comment/Synopsis
In Spain during the period of the inquisition, Rona de Ricci is accused of being a witch by the grand inquisitor Lance Henriksen. Her husband then tries to rescue her and is also captured. This is a mixture of horror, violence and nudity that is both unpleasant and yet at the same time compelling viewing. Lance Henriksen gives a great performance as the inquisitor and he is well supported by Rona de Ricci in one of very films. This is loosely based on the Edgar Allan Poe story and is very different to the 1961 version with Vincent Price, but both are good in their own but different ways.
