A reporter (Robert Williams) has a whirlwind romance with a wealthy socialite (Jean Harlow) despite another reporter (Loretta Young) being in love with him. It very soon becomes apparent that their marriage is a struggle due to their different social classes and each expecting the other to change and fit in with their lives. Director Frank Capra plays up the social contrasts that played well to depression era audiences in America. Jean Harlow is suitably sultry as the rich woman in contrast to Loretta Young's more down to earth reporter character.
