When a young girl (Mary Pickford) is orphaned she is sent to live with her dour aunt the other side of the country. Pollyanna goes through life with a positive attitude to life, looking for glad things in life. Despite being in her late 20's Mary Pickford is still convincing as a young girl and the film manages to avoid being sickly sweet.
