A London cabbie impersonates the king of Ruritania in order to save him from being assasintaed before his corronation. This is a comic interpretation of the Anthony Hope story. The script written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais who were better known for writing comedy television series. The homour is not very good and it detracts from the flow of the story. This is not one of Peter Sellers's better performances as he plays both lead characters.
