A soldier discovers that an elderly countess did a deal with the devil to know the lucky cards in a card game. He manipulates a young woman's feeling to get to the countess and cuases her death, after which he is haunted by her spirit. Anton Walbrook gives a good performance for what is a quite unpleasant chacter.
