A young woman working behind the perfume counter in a hotel meets a charming man who offers her a job in New York if she ever needs one. When the hotel closes she moves to New York and he gives her an apartment, salary and clothing allowance provided that she accompanies him when required and keep her mouth shut. She only then realises that she is acting as an alibi for a major mobster. This is an uninspiring story and only notable for an early performance from a very young Shirley Temple.
