A woman (Gene Tierney) who works in a department store is offered money to accompany a couple to a social event. She is then drawn into their schemes for swindling people out of money, but things get complicated when she falls in love with one of the people (Henry Fonda) they conned money out of. The plot is not particularly exciting nor does it have any unexpected twists, but Gene Tiery is good in the lead role.
