It is the first musical western and the first sound film of Bebe Daniels. Both she and John Boles show off their singing voices well. It is also the first film that teamed up Bert Wheeler and Robert Woolsey and thier comic double act forms a side plot to the film. Dorothy Lee appears here in her second credited film. The final section of the film on the boat was filmed in two strip Technicolor. THe film was based on the popular Broadway play.
