A young woman living in the wild of Canada is taken in by a Mountie who falls in love with her, takes her to a town where she can become a lady, whilst a man with amore dubious reputation also falls in love with her. He is also involved with the local Indian tribe. The film is based on the operatta by Otto A Harbach and Oscar Hammerstein II. The plot is quite thin and bland but the wild Canadian wilderness comes over well in the wide screen Cinemascope. Ann Blyth gives a solid performancein the lead and has a good singing voice.
