A young woman (Carol Dempster) is bannished by her family after she marries a circus performer. When she dies she leaves her daughter in the charge of a side show con man ( W C Fields). She becomes a dancer in the circus, but when it hits hard times, he decddes to talke the girl back home to her grandparents. This is a mix of comedy and mealodrama, but not the best of D W Griffith's films.
