In the late 1700's an aristocratic woman falls in love and marries a lord and up and coming politician. When she runs off with her lover, her husband takes them to court to get compensation for the loss of hiis wife. The resulting scandal roacked the British establishment. The film is based on real historical events and is a well produced film with a good performance from from Natalie Dormer as the woman ahead of her time.
