Comment/Synopsis

A newspaper reporter (John Lodge) along with other reporters of the Murder Gang descend on a small village when a woman is murdered. He uses any means to get the story at the expense of everyone else around him including the innocent. The big problem with this film is that JOhn Lodge's charcter is unpleasant and does a lot of agressive shounting. The direction is very heavy handed. Margaret Vyner is the sort of love interest but is lagely superficial. The best performance comes from Diana CHurchill as the barmaid. This is not one of the better British crime dramas.
