Comment/Synopsis
A writer makes a bet he can write a novel in 24 hours in a seculed closed hotel, but his day is disrupted by the arrival on uninvited guests. This is an early talkie film based on a popular play. It looks very much like a play and is very wordy with limited action, but the plot twists come thick and fast. It is notable for being one of the earliest films to make significant use of sound effects to support the plot. Richard Dix gives a good performance which is more natural than the silent style of acting.
