A school boy walks home and claims he was thrown ooff the bus by the conductor, but his lie spirials out of control and an interfering neighbour and the press get involved. This is a British suburban morality tale of how a simple lie can can have massive unforseen consequences as well as the morality of the tabloid press. This was the first film role of Dennis Waterman as the schoolboy.
