Mike Myers is a poet, who begins to suspect that his new girlfriend (Nancy Travis), a local butcher, has actually married and killed three previous husbands. There is some good humour and the film builds well to the climax. This is one of Mike Myers best films, provided you ignore the dreadful Scottish family scenes early in the film and stay with it to the second half. He is well supported by good performances from both Nancy Travis and Anthony LaPaglia.
